Scríbhneoir agus foilsitheoir é Darach Ó Scolaí. Ghnóthaigh a úrscéal An Cléireach Duais an Oireachtais 2007 agus Gradam Uí Shúilleabháin 2008, agus d’ainmnigh Comhar é mar an ‘úrscéal is fearr ó chasadh an Chéid’. Foilsíodh athinsintí leis ar dhá sheanscéal An Ceithearnach Caolriabhach agus Feis Tigh Chonáin agus aistriúcháin ar dhá úrscéal le Robert Louis Stevenson, Oileán an Órchiste agus An Fuadach. Bhain a dhráma Coinneáil Orainn Duais Bháitéir Uí Mhaicín agus an BBC Stewart Parker Award amach. Ar a shaothar do dhaoine óga tá na leabhair An Bradán Feasa, Dóiteoir na Samhna agus Bodach an Chóta Lachna.

Darach Ó Scolaí was recently described by Books Ireland as ‘one of the most important Irish language writers of his generation’. His fiction explores history and mythology in rich and evocative prose of the highest order. His latest novel, Súil an Daill, takes us to Tyrone in 1539, and tells a tale of power struggles in the Medieval and Renaissance world of the Gaelic lords. His publishing house, Leabhar Breac, is noted for its standards of excellence, and has an imaginative list that covers fiction, critical works, poetry, translations of classics and graphic novels.

Tonight Darach talks about his life and work in the company of writer and broadcaster Cathal Póirtéir.
