Garraí Gaelach na Marbh

8:00 pm | Kirsten Norrie.

Ainm de chuid na nGarbhchríoch ar an bhfile, ealaíontóir agus amhránaí Kirsten Norrie is ea MacGillivray. Is é atá i nGarraí Gaelach na Marbh ná iniúchadh ar mhiotas na gcrann, an draíocht agus an béaloideas i gcultúr na nGael.

MacGillivray is the Highland name of the extraordinary poet, artist and singer Kirsten Norrie. Of her poems, critic David Wheatley has remarked that they ‘come at us with one language wearing the pelt of another’. In The Gaelic Garden of the Dead she embarks on a voyage into arboreal myth, magic and folklore in Gaelic culture. This film features MacGillivray reciting poetry in English and songs in Scottish Gaelic to musical backdrops composed and performed by Seán Mac Erlaine, and featuring visuals from artist Margaret Lonergan. Produced by Liam Carson. Film editing by Liam Grant.
